Andrew Groves

After two headline grabbing collections ('The Flies' - s/s 98 and 'Spontaneous Combustion' a/w 98), Andrew Groves has finally joined the official London Fashion Week schedule. Although the Central Saint Martin's Master's Graduate vowed there would be 'no insects, animals or fire' this time, the show started with a laserbeam burning a line along the entire catwalk. Set in a warehouse in North West London, 'Cocaine Nites', was cleverly colour coded. It began with plain white outfits (worn by anonymous models with masked faces) which gradually transformed into cream and light shades followed by designs combining stripes and checks in dramatic colours. The highlight of the collection is Groves' incredible razor blade dress which had the audience - and especially the photographer's - screaming for an encore!
