Snooker Halls, night clubs and now car parks. Sonja Nuttall eschewed convention by staging her show on the 6th floor of Selfridges car park, complete with power failures and car alarms. Despite these distractions, the show presented the minimalist chic mirrored by the surroundings. The spring/summer look from Sonja Nuttall comes in the neutral hues of white, black and navy. Clean cuts are key with slim line, square-cut tops that tie loosely at the back, fitted long jackets with impeccable tailoring, double pockets and slim collars. Skirts are few but range from short bias loose-fitting minis to knee-length A-lines. Flat-fronted shorts and loose knickerbocker style trousers tied at the knee appear with knee-high socks and stilettos or rubber flip flops. Stripes of paint add a raw element to simple T-shirt and short combinations. In this collection, natural fibres rule with cotton flowing in transparent knee-length dresses. Leather features in short jackets and knickerbockers. Coats are shin-length and tied loosely below the bust. Trousers are straight, stylish and hung from the hips. The finalŽ unveiled a Welsh widow look. Large bell shaped black skirts featuring one hand painted white circles at the hemline appear alongside long, square-cut jackets and head scarves. Simple yet elegant - that's signature Sonja Nuttall.
