Despite unprecedented hype and anticipation, Fashion Week has got off to a slow start. Security is tighter than ever with television crews bearing the brunt of the crackdown. The British Fashion Council claims designers are concerned about mass exposure and are reacting by limiting television and Internet coverage. |
| It's over 24 hours since the proceedings began and most of the on-site tents are still empty. The Designers' Exhibition will be launched this evening, at a Moet and Chandon sponsored bash. In the meantime, buyers and journalists are left to wander around a photographic exhibition sponsored by the International Wool Secretariat "Woolmark in Perspective: 5 designers, 5 photographers, 1 mark". It features work by Fleur Olby, Gavin Bond, Katerina Jebb, Barnaby and Scott, and Sandro Sandano with the images depicting designers' original creations in wool. |  |
