Siereks

Siereks is the family fashion house whose design team is sister Aga and brothers Tomek and Pshemko. Siereks has always been an innovative label - they once staged a show on an east London street and the collection was made up exclusively of clothes made from laundry bags. This season, they have kept the fabrics simple - half the collection is made from the paper-like Tyvek, the rest from denim - but explore shape and cut to make twisted, curved and ultimately wearable pieces. The models were driven by van into the show which was set in a dimly lit garage. Mum and Dad sat on a battered sofa watching what their kids had created (and seemed pleased). There are printed Tyvek hooded coats, white tops that are twisted and pulled around the body. Long strips of Tyvek are knotted and worn as belts. Denim pieces are industrial - serious jeans, above the knee mini skirts with double waists, bum hugging skinny jeans, enormous Tyvek bags and light denim catsuits. Not every outfit works and the Tyvek can look like a bandages hanging from the outfit, but the denim jeans and skirts and Tyvek tops are fantastic.
