Belle and Bunty Belle and Bunty is a new label which is a collaboration between Alice-Louise Shreeve and Hannah Roff. The first collection, Go Wild, was launched in the On/Off series at the National Army Museum. Due to the large number of people trying to get in, the decision was taken to stage two consecutive shows. The colours are vibrant and rich: lush green and deep pink appear alongside white and mustard yellow. Culottes, sleeveless tops that skim the waist, silky skirts and delicate print blouses, vest tops and bandeau dresses are all key pieces. There are amazing details - black ribbon weaved into the back of a white skirt and pink ribbon draped weaved into the back and draped across a pink dress. The clothes are practical, every outfit is genuinely wearable. Wild prints and gentle 20s references are strong elements. This is an incredible debut showing of intelligent, womanly clothes which are beautifully made. The audience left exuberantly talking about how good it was and there was even praise from a photographer who beamed a smile and said, "That's the prettist show I have seen all week". |
