For spring 02 Boyd presents Utopia, a collection inspired by the countryside. The colour palette focuses on natural shades - sunset orange, sky blue, wheat yellow and cream - in tunics, chiffon frocks, delicate blouses, embroidered bustiers, flower and barley prints. In contrast with Boyd's last gritty and urban Beatnik-inspired collection, Utopia offers a gentle, girliness which embraces milkmaids and field workers. There's utilitarian tunics and trousers alongside 'Sunday best' sexy dresses and khaki swimwear. Not surprisingly, the overall result is wearable as well as desirable and Boyd should have no problem finding customers for her soon-to-open London boutique.
