Despite the fact that Webber has designed a summer collection more suited to Arctic conditions and with 'The Phantom Menace' overtones (Darth Maul red and black colour scheme and Queen Amidala gowns), this collection is truly stunning. Colours - including black with gold, white, red or pale yellow - were as strong as Webber's trademark futuristic shapes - all angular shoulders and fabric fins. Unlikely summer fabrics such as leather, leather-look materials and velvet are put to good use in awe-inspiring quirky details; one-legged trousers, items that are both shorts and skirts, sleeves that are only attached at the top of the shoulder and 'full nappy' effect trousers with a low, saggy crotch. The highlights however are the velvet dresses with a slightly Oriental feel, which combine fantastic original prints, brilliant use of colour and ceremonial grandeur. In contrast Webber's menswear is a subtler affair with simple black leather trousers and jackets.
