Martin Kidman's gilt-ridden first show at LFW was a hit with onlookers. His collection, suitably titled 'Miami Life', is inspired by Candy - a drunken, rich housewife who lives life in the fast lane. The range pays tribute to all things trashy, flashy, tasteless and nautical. Red, white and blue are offered as a contending colour combination for next season against a mind blowing array of clashing cheap tones including pink, yellow, green, purple and black. Ruched tops, dresses and leg warmers balanced beautifully with gold snake belts and stitched-on stars. Wood print taffeta, soft mahogany knits and laundry bag checked tops are featured, but highlights of the collection include patchwork dresses, ruched cocktail outfits and sailor slut ensembles.
