Margarete Werner's collection was a mix of pared minimalism with hints of the 50s and 60s, Far Eastern inspired detailing and animal and abstract prints. Her tones are muted sand, stone, mushroom or sage punctuated with emerald green, red and black. Skirt lengths halt at mid-thigh, the knees or just below and slim shift dresses are gathered at the waist with thin double belts to break up the line. Pencil skirt suits with loosely tailored jackets are business-like without being overblown power dressing. The collection is both elegantly understated - a white swing coat with flared sleeves - and punchy - bold black prints on cream shifts. Another highlight is the 'Pagoda-roof' shoulder trim on otherwise stark shift dresses and super-sized monkeys with swirling tails 'crawling' over cream clay red tops.
