Julien Macdonald's shows are always a sumptuous glitterati feast. Gorgeous people in the audience included Joely Richardson, Emma Bunton and members of Westlife while the catwalk was illuminated by Jodie Kidd, Yasmin Le Bon and Anna from 'Big Brother'. Julien's vision for spring is uncompromisingly shiny and garish. The collection features loud and lurid mismatched prints, sequins, diamante and crystals, low slung trousers, sparkly vest tops for men and women and a huge variety of carnival style frocks. Influences and inspirations are diverse. The overall look is very 80s Miami Beach babe with white jackets cast over super sparkly dresses with plunging necklines and explicit front or side spilts. There is also a touch of the 1920s here with a mini Flapper dress and some of the outfits are skimpy carnival costumes. Swimwear includes tweensy bikinis for women and acid bright trunks for guys. The catsuits in blinding Harlequin colours and swirly prints are particularly flamboyant. If you're after a 'Come Dancing' cocktail of bright colour and sparkles, Julien is your man.
