Chalayan's latest collection proves that the reigning British Designer of the Year can create wearable clothes whilst continuing to blur the boundaries between art and fashion. Bleached denim, ragged dresses with scribbled details, sharply tailored jackets and the futuristic, sculpted silhouettes expected of the cutting edge designer all feature in the new range which is more conventional than others, but still beautifully complex. Dynamic shades of black, olive green, poppy red and burnt orange are combined and contrasted with crisp white and a bold floral print. To prove that Chalayan isn't completely leaving his eccentricities behind, the collection also includes a moulded sugar glass bodice and skirt which were both deliberately smashed to pieces during the designer's show.
