Instead of a catwalk show, Godfrey opted for a short film presentation which reflected the concise, functional aspects of the collection. Silhouettes are simple and relaxed and the outfits are generally devoid of quirky sartorial exclamation marks. Bridget Riley-style candy-coloured stripes either obscure photographic prints on trousers or are cut into diagonally fastening shirt dresses. Equally eye-catching are asymmetric wrap skirts and low slung trousers with geometric patterns over supersized checks. Elsewhere the collection offers other key pieces including lightweight macs in bright yellow, navy slim fitting jackets and soft knits dotted with contrasting coloured hexagonal inserts. Other colours that Godfrey has in store for next summer are tan and black, an array of pastels and stone.
