Seraph

Biba meets bad end of the eighties in Seraph by Sherald Lamden's 'Saturday' night fever collection. Spangly 'Dorothy of Oz' high-heels and white stilettoes with every outfit paired with top-to-toe glitzy gold, looked not just tacky but terrible. Unflattering pleated calf-length skirts and curtain-style rouching on dresses just didn't quite make the grade as clothes meant for a cool revival. Pale models walked stiffly, expressionless and without the excitement usually found when raiding, what looked like, mum's dressing up box (maybe that's the actual point of the collection). Individual pieces like the inside-out jeans, the dual denim jacket or the grey marl 'Saturday' tee (not seen) were the light at the end of the tunnel for a clearly bemused and suffering audience.
