Matthew Williamson
Matthew Williamson's second showing at Fashion Week had well over 400 bods crammed into a stuffy basement gallery with a capacity for 200. Ruby cocktails provided relief for a sweaty few who were rewarded with a beautiful collection of embroidered knits and beaded silks. Snowflake motifs on hand-knitted dresses in mauves and hot pinks mingle with long, sweeping beaded skirts in gold and warm reds. Simple tailored sheaths embellished with fire work explosions of embroidered colour vary from Celtic swirls and star bursts of glittering beads. Hair was sprinkled with icy glitter and collars sprouted multi-coloured dread locks of loosely spun wool. Ultimately wearable, Matthew Williamson's latest collection presented the definitive of warm feminine sensuality.
