Owen Gaster is one of Britain's most talented designers and his signature fusion of nice 'n' sleazy punk and Bohemia has won him universal praise and admiration. But if his autumn/winter show is anything to go by, the lad is losing it. Only a do-lally-tat merchant would cram about two thousand people into a Kings Cross warehouse full of circus paraphernalia (including sawdust, coconut stalls, mini dodgems and spivs) with a structure shaking like a washing machine on a slow spin cycle. The show was due to start at 3.45pm. It was after 5pm when the action actually kicked off, but since most of the buyers had been given lots of free booze, they were too bladdered to be bothered. Amidst booming drum 'n' bass, models stilettoed through the sawdust and sauntered around the audience whilst being accosted by wide boys shouting abuse and touching them up. There was so much rehearsed mayhem going on it was hard to get a good look at the clothes! The collection focuses on sexy pieces with PVC pencil skirts, lace mini skirts, tight tops and this season's ubiquitous sheepskin jackets and coats.
