Bella Freud
Unfortunately the high pink sheen of Bella's 'Sacred Hearts' show at the Café Royal in Regent Street was tainted by the appearance of fur on collars, cuffs and hand bags. Animal skins aside, the new collection of impeccably tailored woollen suits and figure-hugging dresses had the likes of Jerry Hall sighing in the front row. The curvaceous silhouette was coloured with passionate yellow, orange and shocking pink with no whims about mixing all three. Early Picasso and Harlequin windows influenced the look which included hand knitted sweaters embroidered with figures from the French impressionists. Knee-high Burlington socks worn under fish-net stockings were customised with diamonds and pearls. The look is pure luxury which, when mixed with the unnecessary fur trimmings equalled pure self indulgence. Shame Bella.
