Ronit Zilkha
The first show of the day by Ronit Zilkha started with moody music and a projected image of a Victorian women's torso. Even after waiting 40 minutes for the show to start, no-one left the auditorium disappointed. Zilkha mixed fabulous floor-sweeping Edwardian style coats in luxurious velvets with a great selection of separates and dresses. Chocolate brown is carried over from the spring/summer collection and was used here in jackets, shirts and skirts. Shades of grey appeared in petrol two-piece trouser and skirt suits, with double breasted tailored jackets. Trousers were tight-fitting and included flat-fronts and pleating.
Inspired by Bohemian layering, Zilkha's cardigan's, shirts and above-the-knee skirts combined to give an updated Portobello look of mismatch. Shades of pink worked alongside romantic plums. Collars and cuffs were a focus throughout the collection: necklines plunged on simple cut dresses and cuffs were ruffled. The asymmetric dress was a strong feature - some were single-shouldered but with an additional spaghetti strap on the opposite side. Other highlights include PVC dresses, lace dresses, gold pyjama trousers and chiffon tops.
