Central Saint Martin's is widely regarded as the UK's most cutting-edge fashion college. With alumni which include John Galliano and Alexander McQueen, Saint Martin's MA course enjoys the honour of being the only student show in London Fashion Week.

Today, 24 students demonstrated their design skills to a packed audience of photographers, designers, journalists, buyers, tutors and students. The show is a golden opportunity for students to show their work to key figures in the industry. It began with a funky video projection of a short animation which featured a dweeby bespectacled bloke whizzing about on an iron. The collections kicked off with menswear by Christoph Hefti. The models adopted camp poses, some had spray-on hair and others wore playing cards and dice on their faces. His pinstripes suits featured matching slippers.

Several collections explored a cowboy theme with tassled boots, shoes, dresses and trousers. Ninz Sangha's collection updated the look with horn-heeled shoes and heavy plastic belts and American Indian headresses, while Tristen Webber offered a sexier interpretation with intricate details on black leather cowboy chaps. The audience erupted into applause at Andrew Groves' macabre collection featuring mainly black pieces many of which had nails attached. Alison Wojanski's menswear collection was one of the strongest and featured a floor-sweeping feather coat, tan tops and trousers and a zoot suit with a wonderful wood print fabric.
