Michiko Koshino's collection offers all the flamboyance and street savvy that have become signature trademarks of the label. Marrying a dinosaur theme to urban needs, the show featured Tyrannosaurus Rex print dresses and anatomical floor-sweeping coats along with fake fur boob tubes, bondage trousers, vintage denim fitted jackets and cropped knitted tops. The models wore sky-high Mohicans, stripy knee-length and bright ankle socks (along with spiky heels) and carried teddy bears on chains. The cowboy theme was explored with faux pony skin appearing on jeans and skirts and huge turn-ups on dark denim jeans. The city look was updated with pinstripe suits worn with pork pie hats and maxi-length leather coats. The main colour theme was fruity with bright pink, green and orange used throughout. Fabrics ranged from nylon (used in fabulous figure-hugging knitted frocks) to wool with plenty of faux suede and fur in between. Koshino's clothes have always been young, fun and cutting-edge. This collection delivers all we've come to expect from Koshino, but with even more amusing pieces and lurid colours than usual.
