Paul Frith

Sponsored by the high street chain British Home Stores, the Paul Frith collection showed strong 80s influences with music by Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Blondie. PVC coats in dark green, black and brown with fake fur collars appeared alongside wide knee-length and three-quarter length checked variations. Fitted PVC jackets featured classic 80s wide shoulders. There were no shoulder pads, but updated versions of bow tie blouses. Black and grey were prominent colours for dresses and trousers, while earthy shades of orange and green are used in tops. Eveningwear included Oriental patterned silk blouses, ruby red stocking dresses, aqua leaf-printed dresses and transparent shifts. Dresses worn over flared trousers added to the Eastern feel, while the transparent boob tubes and bell-bottomed trousers with fake fur trims smacked of seedy nightclubs. |
