Roksanda Ilincic

Roksanda Ilincic creates clothes which reach beyond the realm of trends and seasons, and instead appear like elements in a magical story. She specialises in off-centre glamour, mixing bold prints with magnificent rich colours and imaginative cuts. This season see Ilincic inspired by the ballet and her show featured mesmerising performances from ballet dancers. The focus was on short gowns and silky tops with vast sleeves that stretched out like flags. There is a killer red riding hood fitted dress, black slinky tunics tied with a pink scarf at the his and love hearts on the back. Patterned tights and printed tops are a key look along with luxurious, green silk dresses (tied with abow at the back of the neck) and a drop-dead gorgeous plum silk dress with a ruched neckline and a delicate red train attached. Even more dramatic is an angled black hat worn with a stunning black dress, very powerful. Accessories included fantastic enormous beaded necklaces. The whole collection was a joy to watch and this mini-ballet seemed to transport us from the glory and the fury of Fashion Week, and take us for a few moments to a more serene place.
