Red or Dead are back. It's been four years since 'Africans in London', their last catwalk show and a new designer takes up where Wayne and Gerardine left off. Katie Greenyer has been involved with the label since she was a teenager and has experience working with Westwood, Lacroix as well as French Connection and Jigsaw. Entitled 'Save our Allotments', the collection was shown against a backdrop of plants and the gardening theme continued throughout with earthy shades of green, brown and yellow. There are now two lines: Red or Dead which focuses on basics and the Dead Posh line which is aimed at original Red or Dead fans who are now a bit older. The Dead Posh pieces are in a palette of pale blue, brown and soft pink. There are beautiful frock coats, brown wool capes, soft blue skirt suits with fitted jackets and flared brown wool skirts. The bow-tie blouse is key and is the basis for tops and dresses although RoD have made the bow huge and kept the garments fitted. Most hemlines fall just above the knee. In the basic line, there are 3/4 cords with buttoned hems, a fantastic patchwork jumper which hangs well below the knee. Vinyl appears in Macs and in a green printed 'wedding' dress.
