Despite being influenced by old fashioned skiwear, there is little to keep out the cold in Sheila Maloney's latest winter collection. Throughout this elegant series of flimsy garments, Maloney juxtaposes traditional glamour with modern imperfection. The title, Surface, refers to the applique, embroidery and figurative stitching used throughout and in many instances, left unfinished. Maloney's love affair with blouses continues this season with pleated chiffon, scooped and plunging V-neck versions to choose from. These and Maloney's slouchy trousers combine to create a slinky, super rich secretarial look. Sweat bands (on arms, elbows and ankles) are key accessories along with sashes and Freelance's scary stiletto shoes. Brown dominates the colour palette.
