Under the banner of Fashion East and chosen by a fashion industry panel, i.e. uniform, Louis de Gamma, Lizzy Disney and PPQ presented their winter collections to a packed house in Brick Lane's Atlantis Gallery. First up, and the recent recipient of the Street Style Award, was i.e. uniform with a strongly tailored yet feminine collection called bureaucrat-diplomat. In shades of dusty pink, bright green, purple, black and grey the collection featured scarf neck coats hand printed with glittery disks, sheer chiffon blouses trailing anemone-like neck decorations, fitted skirts flaring from mid-thigh and pedal pushers with intricately pleated hems.
Obi style sashes, were a recurring theme in Louis de Gamma's collection and cinched coat dresses, jackets, jumpsuits and bustiers. Predominantly black, the collection also had highlights of yellow, turquoise, white and herringbone tweed with press studs used as decoration. On a cheeky note, Louis' coats had cut away panels at the rear and asymmetric hemmed skirts revealed upper thighs.
The cartoon sounding Lizzy Disney presented a collection that was anything but including deep V-neck sweaters, skinny legged black trousers and coffee coloured pencil skirts and suede wrap tops. Lizzy's boxy satin trimmed jacket with elbow length sleeves and distressed denim ra-ra style skirts were a nod to the 80s and her drop waist satin hemmed dress the 50s.
For PPQ, slim silhouette, sexy black catsuits and cocktail dresses both with asymmetric net sleeves vied for attention against tight pencil skirts worn with raspberry, lilac or orange polo necks offset with matching decorative rope corset belts. PPQ's menswear featured low waisted slim fit denims, elephant cord and grey wool trousers and skinny fit V-necks in red or camel together with tailored sheepskin coats.
