Models including Yasmin Le Bon all looked confident as they strided Betty Jackson's autumn/winter 01 catwalk. Slinky yet smart, the collection manages to combine woollens, leather, sheepskin, fur, chiffon, satin and jersey. Abstract patterns mixed with dogtooth checks look more restrained than they sound, whilst a soft palette of black and white, cream, berry hues, moss greens, tans and blondes is subtle without being wishy-washy. Shapes are simple and strong, softened by low-slung waists, rounded shoulders and distressed details including tatters and vertical slashes. A sharp but feminine black leather dress is amongst the edgiest elements of the collection, but could still be pulled off by almost any woman. Key accessories which lifted many of the more simple outfits include long leather arm cuffs, fur neck wraps, pointy leather shirt collars and leather shoulder 'puffs'.
