Keeping it real, Antonio Ciutto presented his second off-schedule collection on the street outside the British Fashion Council tents. Titled Missing and inspired by photo albums containing images of an anonymous woman bought in a car boot sale, the collection is bright and beautiful. Cheeky without the camp, sexy without the sleaze, traditionally masculine items including jackets, coats, and simple shirts worn with ties are perky in pretty and old-fashioned colours, whilst the pink and grey stripe makes a big impact. A strapless dress and pleated skirts with contrasting under layers, a burgundy coat with interestingly shaped shoulders, a ruffle-fronted black shirt are also memorable elements. Although there's a strong 30s and 40s feel, the collection also manages to look fresh and modern. Wonderfully and wittily styled, hairnets made to look like flatcaps, stripey tights and rosettes created from tiny plastic legs create a strong style statement.
