For winter 2000 Michiko Koshino's three lines - Main Collection, Yen Jeans and 100's - are inspired by the 1960's, Sumo culture and Japanese workwear respectively. The Main Collection has an urban rustic theme with long dirndl skirts, some patterned with orange and beige squares, skinny fit T's in psychedelic prints and traditional English tweeds turned into wide-leg trouser suits, with slim-fitting hunting jackets. For men there are mint green sawn off trousers and matching belted jackets and jean style trousers with 'oil- stain' patches. The Yen Jeans collection features coffee coloured corduroy jean-style jackets (fitted) and trousers (flared), worn with chunky wooden clogs and patchwork, recyled knitted leggings under denim skirts. The 100's collection is for urban warriors - geometric quilted trousers and jackets, camouflage T-shirts with computer bitmap prints, nylon trousers that zip apart - all in army greens browns and khakis. Big shouldered 'army issue' jackets with elasticated waist detail complete the picture.
