Antoni + Alison's show was a witty and surreal parody of pretentious performance art titled 'Be Careful Not To Bang Your Head'. A voice-over and film played on a projection screen provided the laughs, whilst the clothes themselves were paradoxically witty and dowdy. Clearly inspired by early1960s 'kitchen sink dramas', the collection consisted of A-line knee and ankle length skirts, tight-fitting sweaters and tunic dresses in predominantly muddy shades. The use of sombre colour saved the collection from looking too kitsch and enabled the occasional brightly coloured piece, such as the plum mohair jumper and blue velour dress, to really shine out. Other highlights included a black beatnik ensemble complete with beret and a potato coloured strapless dress inspired by Elizabeth Taylor in her drinking phase. Skirts, T-shirts and dresses were decorated with prints of scrunched paper, pears, potatoes and the slogan " I think you're great".
