For winter 2000 Amaya Arzuaga offers 'Jungle Fever'. It's low on pattern but high on glamour appeal, freedom of movement is crucial to her silhouette. Long kaftan-style dresses, figure revealing tabards feature beside gold lurex belted coat dresses, figure hugging T's worn with wide flowing circular skirts, some caught in wrap-around ruffles. Plain fronted flowing knit dresses have pleat details at the back. Buttery soft leather long dresses with capped sleeves and wide web-like black flared skirts complete the luxury leisurewear feel. Waist length and floor length capes are attached to the back of T-shirts and evening dresses. Jungle colours of olive greens and black are punctuated with splashes of turquoise, orange, lime and gold. Brighter shades, particularly burnt orange, are tailored into short leather jackets. Asymmetry is a dominant theme: A-line knee length skirts, flow to a point on one side, chunky wrap-around one shouler knit tops, ruffles reach down the back of one leg on red tapered trousers. The collection is fashioned out of soft wool, both felt and jersey, chunky handknits, leather and nylon. Fur is a major element - a red coat flaring from the waist, olive green fur fronted T-shirts with fur fringing, black boot cut trousers with fur trim hem, fake cheetah hot pants with matching tabard.
