London College of Fashion

In the presence of Isabella Blow, it was a visual feast of womenswear, menswear and accessories at The London College of Fashion show. Inspired by sailors and dockers Paul Hawley's models cruise the catwalk wearing white sailor style tops and flap front denim or mattress ticking trousers topped off with raw edged purple and petrol blue hooded sheepskin jackets or long, flowing check lined cape coats. Another menswear highlight is Nickie Isaksen's neatly tailored jackets and ribbed knitwear worn with wide leg trousers in heather colours of browns, purples and blues. With references to 'protection' Morgane Le Nouveau creates cosy and earthy coloured winter wear from boiled wool draped into skirts and dresses topped off with unravelling bucket shaped hats. Carmen Tran opted for a lighter touch with her 'Essence of Flowers' collection of flower print skirts and dresses with one double layer chiffon skirt stuffed with fabric petals. For accessories, Tina Tosar's orange or purple neck and wrist cuffs trailed bunches of fake hair while Kelly Garrett's turquoise hats with rainbow lining envelope heads in architectural swirls. Hoi Yan Chick brought up the conceptual front with the 'Psychotherapy' collection of red and off-white column dresses made from bands of velcro that crackled or latex.
