'Hair Raid' was the title and theme of today's hair show by Salon Selectives' stylist Charlotte Cave. Featuring boys on rollerblades and girls with pierced nipples and silver bodies, it was like three minutes from a Ken Russell version of 'Starlight Express'. Punk make-up, men in puff ball skirts and army boots, black mohicans and silver asymmetric fringes.

	Meanwhile, Maria Fragapane's modern collection was surprisingly based on the film 'Cleopatra'.	Featuring pedal pushers, slim fit trousers, tunics and tassles, soft lilac, silver blue lurex and gold formed the basis of the collection's colour palette.
In 'Predictions for the 21st Century', Hackney Community College has been inspired by good, evil and CDs.'The Millennium Dome' featured a wearable tin roof and CD accessories!		The ideas were relentless and included Coca Cola tins recycled into fish brooches, film used as a bustle for a skirt, disposable lighters used as the back panel of a waistcoat, and kids dressed as angels.
	Jo Harris' 'Eastern Rambler' incorporated a Tibetan traveller vibe with anorak grunge. Bright yellow and orange trousers, hooded tops, sarongs, saris and saucepans worn as accessories all combine to create a blend of ancient and spacy.	U4Ria's sci-fi streetstyle didn't stretch the imagination too far. Aussie cork hats appeared with T-shirts featuring bolt-on 'U4Ria' logos.
Dot's Loft displayed their talent for costume sculpture with a collection based on 18th century decadence. Entitled 'The Topiary Garden' and 'Sea Change', the audience cheered madly at these incredible pieces of wearable art.
	Whorehouse Designs have a flair for fetish fashion. Combats, ripped stockings, camouflage corsets and plenty of facial and nipple piercing. Finally, The Perpetual Beauty Carnival College created a series of costumes under the theme 'Animal Spirits'. Magnificent headresses and lavish detailing meant these literally filled the catwalk!
