The Thursday Show continued..

Middlesex University unleashed an army of kimonos onto the stage. Acres of beautiful printed cotton in a range of colours (from muted greys through to bright red) featured floral patterns, Japanese letters, gold leaves and fruits.
Sharon Young's 'Forgotten Tribes' uses American Indian imagery printed onto fleece and cotton snow boarding wear. The tribal feel is reinforced by her use of natural landscapes colours with strong sunset oranges and deep earthy browns dominating.
'The City' by Davina Hawthorn uses 3D prints and dot matrix patterns in both womenswear and menswear pieces. Pencil skirts, pedal pushers (with black vinyl bottoms on a mock croc print), catsuits and zipped jackets combine to form a strong urban theme. The ubiquitous Susie Wong satin dress with long side-splits reappeared, but Davina's interpretation includes great detailing and her 3D dot matrix printed dresses and skirts are innovative and sleek.
Karen Heard's collection fuses knits with fabrics to create collapsible garments that are weird, wearable and ultimately flexible. Scooped neck dresses with extra long arms and knitted spirals created a futuristic spectacle in burnt orange. With ruffles, bustles and column mock Michelin Man frocks, Karen displayed an outstanding range of shape and fabric ideas.
