Southgate College started the show with loud 21st century punkettes in tartan and black leather. One shouldered tops and pointy hem skirts sprinkled with studs appeared alongside fitted jackets and long skirts. Lina Johansson's mens and womenswear is more mainstream with slouchy trousers, extra long sleeved shirts and sheepskin tabards for him, wrap coats with chunky knit collars, bejewelled halter tops and fur collared medieval corsets for her.
Tatiana Hernandez showed sassy bra tops, apron fronted skirts and backless dresses in white while Ginta Siceva went for an elegantly minimalist collection of slip dresses, long A-line skirts and shell tops in coffee and cream suede. Ginta's intricate evening stoles which appear to be carved from wood are amazing.
On a theme of Garment Modification, Florence Beal crossed classic tailoring with hospital wear. Oversize shirts, billowing pantaloons, sleeveless doctor's jackets and long white coats were key pieces. Louise Cowan's Sudden Death features voluminous red ruched crinoline, an off the shoulder bronze gown and a white slash top. Coppers, bronzes and beiges are the mainstays of Georgina Knight's Art Deco inspired womenswear. Cape back jackets, long flaring irridescent skirts and trousers with contrasting coloured inserts made for a sophisticated collection.
Inspired by the life span of insects, Kyra Nolan created blue corsets, pointy hem dresses, felted minis and mesh bodystockings over rubber halter tops. A colour and cultural explosion from Chelsea College of Art rounded off the show. Blending Eastern and Western influences, Siamese twins hobbled along in bustle back kimonos and a feather printed dress contrasted with a giant fan which morphed into a crinoline.
