"It's been really difficult working and studying but I just got used to it," says Amrik with a big smile. "I've had a lot of support from friends but especially in the run-up to Graduate Fashion Week, I hardly slept. I was up until 3am working on my collection and had to be at work by 7am."
The collection features 10 pieces of men's and womenswear which reveal incredible tailoring skills and a full-on creative force. Focusing on the jacket, the pieces show the evolution of tailoring from its hand-sewn roots in chalked pinstripes to a Space Age fibreglass jacket worn with aluminium shoes and face mask. Everything in the collection has been handmade by Amrik - so it's not surprising that he was awarded a First and is one of three finalists in this year's FHM Young Tailor of the Year Award.» more... |
