| Clarins Self Tanning Milk with Sun Protection (SPF6) - £13.50 |
 | Application:
Thick, creamy consistency which took a while to sink in but left the skin smooth and moisturised. The smell was very pleasant, fresh and fruity. |
Results:
A golden colour developed which looked natural and subtle. It took a week to fade but did so gradually and evenly. |
| Rating: 9/10 |
| Ambre Solaire After Sun Tan Maintainer - £6.19 |
 | Application:
Smells okay, rather like sun lotion and of a light consistency. Smoothes onto the skin. |
Results:
This is designed to be used after sun bathing and contains a little self-tanning agent to maintain a tan, however used purely as a fake tan the results were good. A medium, natural looking tan that's not too obvious faded evenly over a couple of days. |

| Ambre Solaire Moisturising Face Bronzer - £5.99 |
 | Application:
Very sweet apricot smell. Very creamy, if slightly greasy, formula that sinks into the skin well. |
Results:
Nice even glowing bronze colour. Fades evenly. |
| Rating: 8/10 |
| Ambre Solaire Duo Tan - £5.39 |
 | Application:
Not very easy to apply because of the thick, sticky consistency. It also had a strong smell. |
Results:
Nice, even colour. It wore off evenly too. |
| Rating: 7/10 |
| Tesco After Sun Tan Maintainer - £4.49 |
 | Application:
Pleasant smell and easy to apply. The creamy non-greasy texture meant it sunk into the skin and was moisturising. |
Results:
A very light but natural tan. Would be ideal for very pale, fair skinned people. It faded gradually and evenly. |
| Rating: 7/10 |
| Tesco Tinted Facial Bronzer - £2.49 |
 | Application:
The tinted colour makes it easier to apply but the colour of the tint is quite dark and unnatural. The smell was strange but mild. Nice non-greasy formula. |
Results:
Slightly patchy, but a fairly natural colour suitable for darker skins. Wore off unevenly. |
| Rating: 6/10 |
| Estee Lauder Self-Action SuperTan - £14 |
 | Application:
Strange, strong smell that stayed on the skin for some time. Easy to apply but not to the right places! |
Results:
The tan itself was superb dark, natural and like the result of a week in St. Tropez. However the tanning formula must be very strong because there were telltale patches on the feet and hands that ruined the effect. The tan wore off badly and took a long time, leaving patchy skin that had to be hidden. |
